WASHINGTON, June 1 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Automobile giant General Motors said on Monday that its sponsorship of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver won't be affected by its bankrupcy.
GM has committed more than 60 million U.S. dollars to the games, mostly in the form of cars and trucks, as well as roughly 12 million is in cash.
AP quoted company spokesman Stew Low as saying that "no impact" will be on its sponsorship.
"There will be no impact on our sponsorship of the Winter Games. We are fully committed to our support," said Low.
Vancouver organizers said they're confident GM will deliver on its sponsorship commitments as GM Canada Ltd had reaffirmed their support.
