GENEVA, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Three more cases of A/H1N1 flu were confirmed in Switzerland on Friday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to eight, the official Swissinfo news website reported.

The new cases involve three women. One had recently returned from the Dominican Republic, and the other two returned from the United States, according to the Federal Health Office.

The agency said around a dozen suspected cases were also under investigation.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said earlier on Friday that more than 15,500 cases of the new flu had been reported worldwide, including 99 deaths. Most of the deaths occurred in Mexico, where the virus was first identified.
