New AH1N1 patient confirmed in Hong Kong

    BEIJING, May 28 -- A woman tested positive for the A/H1N1 virus in Hong Kong on Tuesday, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the city to ten, according to local health authorities during press briefing Tuesday evening.

    The patient, a 56-year-old local resident, recently traveled to San Francisco with her husband and returned to Hong Kong onboard the Cathay Pacific flight CX873 on May 23. According to the Emergency Response and Information Branch of Department of Health, the woman showed symptoms of influenza including fever and sore throat during her travel in the United States.

    On arriving at Hong Kong, the couple went to their home located in Ma On Shan by taking the bus route number A41P. The patient went to work by taking the Mass Transit Railway from her home to Central. She saw a doctor at the Kwong Wah Hospital on May 25 and has been to the Princess Margaret Hospital for quarantine.

    The department is tracking down the passengers who might have been in contact with the patient.
