29, 2009. The Rwanda Red Cross on May 26, 2009 updated the risk-reduction
plan for the communities that lie in the shadow of the volcano amid signs
that it is showing increased activity again. Nyiragongo erupted in 2002,
sending a river of lava through the city, destroying thousands of homes
