BEIJING, May 24 -- A group of 24 foreign
tourists, quarantined in Tibet after one member being suspected of having A/H1N1
influenza since last Saturday, started their tour in Tibet on Thursday.
The suspect, an Italian tourist, was found to have a
fever of 38.5 degrees Celsius and symptoms of a sore throat, stuffy nose and
sweating at entry into Zham town, Xigaze, last Saturday and was then sent to the
hospital. The 23 other tourists remained under medical observation in Caiyuan
Hotel since then. Tibet Autonomous Region lifted the quarantine on the Italian
tourist, previously suspected of having A/H1N1 influenza, was confirmed to have
just an "seasonal flu" and lifted the quarantine Wednesday.

very happy. The woman who is detained is just fine. She doesn't have swine flu,
so that's also very encouraging. We all at the end really worked out quite well.

that the swine flu is very dangerous, and the government had to take big
measures to protect us, your citizens and the rest of the world. So they need to
quarantine until we do the test.
Members of the tour group were from 12 countries
including the United States, Germany, France, U.K., Italy, Denmark, Japan,
Ukraine, Australia and Singapore.
During their first day tour, they chose Xigaze
region, one of the hottest tourist areas in Tibet, as their first stop, and paid
visits to ancient temple relics including Tashihunpo Monastery and Parlkor
Monastery Thursday.

Foreign tourists in Tibet appreciative
of quarantine measures
BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhuanet) -- The
group of foreign tourists who were previously suspected as suffering A/H1N1
influenza were very excited after the quarantine was lifted Wednesday.
They showed their understanding of the quarantine
measures, and gratitude to the care of the Chinese governments as well as the
service staff of the Caiyuan Hotel in Zham town where they had been quarantined.
