    JAKARTA, May 20 (Xinhua) -- The number of fatality in the Indonesia's military plane crash on Wednesday reached to 98, with 15 others survived and scores others are still missing, Air Force spokesman Bambang Sulistio said here Wednesday.

    "The number of death has been 98, 15 others survive," the spokesman told reporters here. Searching of a number of victims was underway, he said.

    The Hercules plane belonging to Indonesian Air Force was reported to have plunged to the homes on the ground as it crashed and caught fire in Magetan. The plane C-130 Hercules Alpha 1325 was on its way from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta for Biak in Papua when it crashed only four kilometers from Iswahyudi Airport.

    A Metro television footage showed the body of the plane was broken into two parts and burst into flames.

    The plane was carrying at least 109 passengers and crew, including troops and their families. At least 10 children were among them.     

Indonesia's crashed Hercules carries 112

    JAKARTA, May 20 (Xinhua) -- An Indonesian Air Force Hercules, which crashed and burned in Magetan, East Java, on Wednesday morning, carried 98 passengers and 14 crews, the province military commander said.

    "I have received the report. The plane was piloted by First Marshal Harsono, (It) carried 98 passengers and 14 crews," Antara news agency quoted Maj. Gen. Suwarno, chief of East Java and Madura Military Command as saying. Full story

Indonesian military Hercules C130 crashes in East Java

    JAKARTA, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian Air Force's Hercules C130 passenger plane crashed in Madiun East Java, 120 people onboard the ill-fatted plane were feared dead, a local TV station reported here on Wednesday.

    "Among the perished passengers were high rank air force officers, air force troops and 13 plane crews," an air force senior officer told the TV One during an interview aired live on Wednesday. Full story
