    ISLAMABAD, May 12 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people were killed and several others were injured Tuesday as a suspected U.S. drone fired missiles in Pakistan's tribal area of South Waziristan bordering Afghanistan, according to local TV reports.

    Official sources were quoted as saying that militants' hideouts were targeted at the Sarakhora border area of South and North Waziristan and eight bodies had been recovered from the debris, adding that Taliban had besieged the area.

    The death toll in the attack was feared to further rise, according to the report.

    The bodies and the injured people have been shifted to a local hospital.
