JERUSALEM, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Israeli cabinet approved on Sunday that Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman will be responsible for Israel's strategic dialogue with the United States.
Lieberman will head the multi-agency high-level discussions on strategic issues common to both Israel and the United States, according to the statement released by Israel Government Press Office.
The U.S.-Israeli strategic dialogue, established in 1999, is held a number of times every year, and has lately focused on the Iranian nuclear threat.
The appointment of Lieberman to this position was part of the ruling Likud party's coalition agreement with Lieberman's Israel Beiteinu (Israel Is Our Home) party, local media reported.
