    BEIJING, May 7 -- Most supermarkets in Tianjin have started an emergency early-warning mechanism against A/H1N1 flu in a response to an emergency notice issued by the State Quality Inspection Administration to ban the import of pigs and pork products from Mexico and A/H1N1-reported states of the U.S., according to Tianjin Chain Store and Franchise Association.

  Soundbite: Chen Peng, General Manager Assistant of Carrefour Tianjin district, said, "All five Carrefour Tianjin supermarkets have adopted strict measures in the daily operation, such as operating all ventilators to ensure sufficient fresh air inside the supermarket, and strengthening the checkup of foodstuff and prok products.

    It is learned that supermakets like Carrefour and Vanguand also put into operation the strict measures of disinfection of shopping trolleys, baskets and public facilities. Some stores also put on sale the drugs on preventing the flu in the drugs counters.
