BEIJING, May 7 -- Jennifer Garner refused to film scenes in front of Ricky
Gervais for their new movie.
The 37-year-old actress found working with the British comic star, who
wrote, directed and starred in 'The Invention of Lying', impossible because he
kept bursting into laughter and ruining their scenes.
She explained: "Ricky is very specific about things, although the worst
thing about him as a director is that if something is funny at all - and it was
very improvisational - he breaks and laughs and ruins your take. "I would say to
him, 'It's your movie, but can you just leave? Maybe just go into another room?'
But he knew exactly what he wanted."
Jennifer also revealed she dislikes working with her husband Ben Affleck -
who she starred alongside in 2001's 'Pearl Harbor' and 2003's 'Daredevil', both
of which before they began dating - and has vowed never to appear on screen with
him again.
She said: "No, no, no. It doesn't work. It would just feel so incredibly
weird. I couldn't do a scene with him for all the tea in China."
