BEIJING, May 6 -- Many villagers were terrified on Sunday after hundreds of snakes were seen crawling around in a village located in the Zhuhai special economic zone in Guangdong province.
The snakes were found in local streams, roads, farmlands, trees and wells.
Villagers eventually got together and killed more than 200 snakes.
The boss of a factory apparently bought the snakes and released them due to his religious belief that people shouldn't kill snakes.
