WARSAW, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Hospitals in Poland are well prepared for a possible outbreak of a pandemic of A/H1N1 flu, Deputy Health Minister Adam Fronczak said on Monday after a week-end inspection of hospitals.
Health officials and members of a pandemic committee have inspected randomly selected hospitals in various parts of the country over the past three days, according to Polish news agency PAP.
The three-day inspection will be summed up on Wednesday. Fronczak said that inspections did not find any situation which would require any corrections.
Highest alert level has been announced for sanitary-epidemiological stations. A total of 134 infectious disease hospitals have 3,846 beds.
According to the State Hygiene Inspectorate, so far tests of 19samples taken from persons suspected of having the A/H1N1 flu virus had negative results. One sample is still being checked.
