RIO DE JANEIRO, May 3 (Xinhua) -- After his team's trophy ceremony upon winning the Sao Paulo state soccer championship, soccer star Ronaldo declared on Sunday that he is the happiest man on the planet.

However, he also took the opportunity to criticize the poor organization of the post-game ceremony, which featured the state trophy catching fire.

Sunday's state championship conquered by the Corinthians soccer team was Ronaldo's first opportunity to lift a trophy in Brazil. Despite his joy, he was also shook by the chaotic organization.

"I want to begin by lamenting the lack of organization at the award ceremony. I was unable to celebrate and enjoy our moments on the field just after the final whistle blew," said the striker.

"Those moments are precious. We needed to have more space to celebrate as a team. The victory means a lot to me, especially after having come back from a difficult recuperation of my knee. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to commemorate the title the way I would have liked to.

"I didn't get the chance to cheer with the fans nor to take the traditional Olympic lap around the stadium," added Ronaldo.

The stage where the Sao Paulo state trophy was presented to the Corinthians' team captain, William, caught fire due to all the confetti and fireworks that simultaneously exploded into the air. Ronaldo considers that to be a lack of responsibility and professionalism by those responsible.

Despite his inability to have celebrated in the manner he wanted, Ronaldo did look at the bright side of the victory. It was the first time that Ronaldo was able to lift a trophy inside of Brazil.

"I doubt that there is anyone in the world right now as happy as I am right now. I can honestly tell you that I am the happiest man on earth. It has been a long road to recovery and today's title makes everything that much more special. It feels great," said Ronaldo.
