BEIJING, April 30 -- Dreamboat Club, a group of
mainland and Hongkong stars, Tuesday visited children with the Ying Hua Primary
School in quake-hit Shifang, southwestern Sichuan Province.
Soundbite: Alan Tam, Hongkong star "I hope these
students know that we are not leaving them behind."
Soundbite: Fui-On Shing, Hongkong star "I was really
frightened when I was here the first time. I think if I were living here, I
would be angry. So I really admire Sichuan people. They are really very brave."
Soundbite: Band Yuquan (Singer Tony and Cannon) "I'm
very glad to see the smiles on children's faces and the confidence of the quake
survivors. They just need time. Cherishing daily studies and life is very
important. They have experienced something special in their childhoods, which
will enrich their futures and make them braver."
The stars were deeply touched by the courage of the
quake survivors.
Raising the flag, playing games and offering
souvenirs gave students the chance to have close contact with their favorite
stars in the temporary school.
Soundbite: Student from Yinghua Primary School "I'm
touched to the bottom of my heart to see so many stars here for the first time.
They're all my favorites. I'm so grateful, I don't know how to express it. I
think repaying them with good grades is the best thing."
The activity, "09 Assembly Love", featured many
stars. The stars used a motorcade to distribute relief supplies to residents in
the poor areas they passed through. They concentrated their efforts in the
worst-hit areas and delivered urgently needed items. They set out from Beijing
on April 23. Their route took them through many places on the way, including
Beichuan, Shihu and other parts of Sichuan.
Soundbite: All stars "Come on, Sichuan! Come on,
Shihu!"
