KATHMANDU, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Police have arrested five people involved in an attack on the personal secretary of Prime Minister Prachanda.
Chief of the Metropolitan Police Range Hanumandhoka Superintendent of Police (SP) Nawa Raj Silwal confirmed the arrests and said the police would divulge the details in a press conference on Tuesday, according to the local newspaper Himalayan Times on Tuesday.
The report said "the arrests were made a few days ago," without revealing the specific time.
The prime minister's secretary Shakti Basnet, also known as "Suresh," is a politburo member of the ruling party, the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (UCPN-M).
He was shot at on Feb. 9 at Koteshwor in Nepali capital Kathmandu and sustained bullet injury in the left leg.
