    QINGDAO, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao boarded the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy destroyer Shijiazhuang at noon for an international fleet review slated for later Thursday.

    President Hu, also chairman of the Central Military Commission, was accompanied by PLA Navy Commander Admiral Wu Shengli and others.

    The PLA fleet parade, featuring the debut of China's nuclear submarines, and the fleet review of 21 foreign vessels from 14 countries will be held off the coast of Qingdao to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy.

President Hu reviews navy guard of honor at Qingdao Port

    QINGDAO, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived at the Qingdao Port Thursday noon and reviewed the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy guard of honor, prior to an international fleet review slated for later Thursday.

    Earlier this morning, President Hu, also chairman of the Central Military Commission, met with heads of naval delegations from 29 countries who are here to participate in celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy. Full story

President Hu meets foreign naval delegation heads in Qingdao

    QINGDAO, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao, also chairman of the Central Military Commission, met here Thursday with heads of foreign navy delegations attending celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy.
