HONG KONG, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong soccer club South China continued their march towards the quarterfinals of the AFC Cup after they took a convincing 2-0 victory over Malaysia's Johor FC here on Tuesday to maintain their winning trend in the Group F of the 2009 AFC Cup.

South China started brightly as Man Pei-Tak fired home from close range after 15 minutes to help South China take an early lead.

Johor soon settled into the match although the visitors struggled to deal with the physical nature of the visibly stronger home side.

Ten minutes after the break, Carlos Eduardo Ferrari headed home a left wing cross from his teammate Brazilian forward Tales Schutzand double the lead for South China.

South China dominated the closing stages as Chan Siu Ki saw an effort from the edge of the area turned onto the crossbar before substitute Bai He headed wide from Schutz's chipped free-kick.

With the victory, South China stayed on the top of the Group F with nine points in three matches, while Johor ranked fourth with one point.
