Special Report: President Hu Attends G20 London
Summit
MOSCOW, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Russia is "fully
satisfied" with the results of the G20 summit in London, Russian presidential
aide Arkady Dvorkovich said here Tuesday.
"We think steps were made along several directions
compared with the Washington summit," Dvorkovich told a press conference.
The presidential aide highlighted four points of
progress made at the London summit, according to the Itar-Tass news agency.
First, a step forward in the preparedness to reach
agreements; second, fulfillment of the specific provisions of the Washington
plan, such as the decision on offshore zones and on modernization of accounting
standards.
"Number three, the summit passed a resolution on
setting up a Financial Stability Council and voiced the readiness to work within
its format," he said.
The fourth point is "many of our ideas were perceived
readily and preparedness to continue work on them also exists," he added.
Although the issue of creating a supra-national
reserve currency was not discussed at the summit, Dvorkovich said a broad
discussion had been initiated on this issue, according to Interfax.
"Our goal was to orientate the discussion towards
this issue," he said, "A discussion is underway in the world and it will
continue. A greater role of regional currencies is a natural trend which no one
is going to resist."
When speaking to foreign journalists on March 30,
Dvorkovich said Russia and China "have similar positions" on the reform of the
international financial system. He also said Russian ruble and Chinese yuan
should be included in the basket of IMF's Special Drawing Rights.
