BEIJING, March. 31 (Xinhuanet) -- Actor Josh Hartnett was hospitalized early Monday after he suffered from gastrointestinal problems.

    Hartnett's  publicist Susan Patricola said the 30-year-old actor has been admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles, California.

    He was transported by ambulance at 1:45 a.m. Monday to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Patricola said in a statement, adding he "is under observation but is resting comfortably."

    The publicist said Hartnett had a flare-up of a gastrointestinal issue that affected him while he was starring in an onstage production of "Rain Man" in London last year.
