Chinese premier to attend ASEAN related meeting in Thailand

    BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will attend the meetings on the sidelines of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting in Pattaya of Thailand from April 10 to 12 at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

    This was announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang at a regular press conference on Tuesday.

    The meetings Wen will attend include the 12th summit between the ASEAN and China (10+1), the 12th summit between the ASEAN and China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK)(10+3), the 4th East Asia Summit, and the breakfast meeting of leaders from China, Japan, and the ROK.

    The ASEAN, a regional cooperation group, was founded in 1967 and composed of 10 members.
