KATHMANDU, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Nepali people will not be free from the problem of power load shedding until 2019, local newspaper The Rising Nepal reported on Monday.

Load shedding will remain until 2015 for low economic growth, until 2016 for medium economic growth and until 2019 for high economic growth, the Ten-Year Hydropower Development Plan Task Force said on Sunday.

The Task Force in a statistics made public on Sunday said there would be load shedding in the country all the year round as there will be increased demand as compared to installed capacity by 2013.

When the installed capacity will reach 651 MW by addition of 45MW in 2011, only 321 MW will be produced in dry season.

In 2012, capacity will be 808 MW with increase of 157 MW, but 373 MW will only be produced in dry season.

In 2009, there will be 600 MW in summer and 402 MW in winter whereas the demand will be 720 MW in summer and 900 MW in dry season, and therefore there will be load shedding all the year round.

Nepal, in this dry season's winter, has been witnessing daily 16-hour load shedding.
