BEIJING, March 27 -- An 84-year-old woman rescued a 5-year-old boy who was pushed into a river in Jinan, Shandong province.

    As he played on a small bridge in Lanxi village, one of his friends pushed Yu Hang into the river.

    Wu rushed into the river and pulled the boy to the riverbank. She was exhausted after the episode was over and had to be fetched home by other villages.

    The boy and Wu have become close friends.
