Poll: Support for Aso's cabinet up 7.7 points to 23.7%

    TOKYO, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The support rate for Prime Minister Taro Aso's Cabinet rose by 7.7 percentage points to 23.7 percent, Kyodo News reported Thursday, citing its latest survey conducted on Wednesday and Thursday.

    Meanwhile, the disapproval ratings fell by 7.3 percentage points to 63.5 percent from the previous poll taken on March 7 and 8, said the survey.

    On the issue of main opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) leader Ichiro Ozawa, the survey showed that 66.6 percent of respondents said he should resign, compared with 28.9 percent who said he should stay on as party chief.
