MOSCOW, March 26 (Xinhua) -- 14 people were killed and four injured in a traffic accident in Russia's central Vladimir region early Thursday.

A Kama truck collided with a bus with 15 passengers and two drivers outside the town of Petushki in Vladimir region, some 100 km east of Moscow early Thursday morning, with 14 killed, including the truck driver, and four injured, Itar-Tass quoted the Russia's Emergency Ministry as saying.

The initial investigation showed that the truck driver was suspected to fall asleep due to wariness, and the truck ran in the wrong direction and collided with the bus, said the spokesman of the national traffic administration department.

The weather was awful at the site, said the spokesman.

The bus caught fire after the crash and the injured had been rushed to the local hospital, officials said.
