KATHMANDU, March 23 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and another injured when a bomb went off Monday at the Transport Management Office (TMO) in western Nepali town of Nepalgunj, some 365 km west of capital Kathmandu.
A large number of visitors were at the office for getting driving license, mandu, at the time of blast.
"We were busy with our work and we heard a big blast. We jumped out of the window in panic," said Dhan Prasad Dhital, an officer at the building.
The explosion happened at a back door of the office building at around 1:15 p.m. (0730 GMT), destroying nearby rooms and a motorcycle.
The transport office has confirmed that the deceased is neither its employee, nor a customer.
"The deceased man has been identified as Istiyak Khan aged 25, who got killed in blast while planting "pressure cooker" bomb, the District Police Office Banke Inspector Pradeed Kumar G.C. told Xinhu over telephone.
"Further investigation regarding the blast is going on," said G.C.
