BRATISLAVA, March 20 (Xinhua) -- The official campaign for presidential election concluded Friday in Slovakia in which incumbent Ivan Gasparovic is considered a favorite.
According to the latest public opinion polls, President Ivan Gasparovic, 67, is likely to win the reelection. He is supported by the Smer-Social Democracy party of Prime Minister Robert Fico and Slovak National Party (SNS) of led by Jan Slota.
Polls suggest that opposition lawmaker Iveta Radicova, 51, from Slovak Democratic and Christian Movement-Democratic Party, has a chance of taking Gasparovic to a second round which is scheduled for April 4.
Analysts said the campaign was dull and will hardly influence the first round of voting which will start on Saturday.
