U.S. Vice President Biden to visit Latin America

    WASHINGTON, March 13 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will visit Latin America later this month, said the White House on Friday.

    The vice president is to travel to Chile and Costa Rica from March 27 to 30, and consult with Latin American leaders on the Summit of the Americas, which is scheduled for mid-April in Trinidad and Tobago, said the White House in a statement.

    In Chile, Biden will join leaders from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Norway and Britain in the Progressive Governance Conference, and hold a bilateral meeting with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, said the statement.

    Biden is also expected to meet with Costa Rican President Oscar Arias when he visit the country, and attend a joint meeting with leaders of Central American nations in San Jose, it added.
