NEW DELHI, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will
attend the G-20 Summit to be held London on April 2, said the prime minister's
office Friday.
The confirmation came after speculations were made about his health
following a heart bypass surgery two months ago.
Singh is expected to have his first meeting with U.S. President Barack
Obama on the sidelines of the summit, according to Indian External Affairs
Minister Prnab Mukherjee, who made a visit to Washington this week.
Singh underwent a heart bypass surgery on Jan. 24 and has since been
recovering very well, according to India media reports.
The G-20 Summit is the second of its kind to be held in five months to
discuss the global financial crisis.
