CHANGDU, Tibet, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Traffic on a highway linking Tibet
with the neighboring province of Sichuan resumed Wednesday afternoon, one day
after it was suspended by a mountain collapse, local authorities said.
The road reopened at 1:30 p.m. after a huge boulder and about 12,000 cubic
meters of debris, which were blocking the No. 318 Highway, were removed, said an
armed police officer directing the repair work. He said 30 soldiers participated
in the operation.
