WASHINGTON, March 10 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President
Barack Obama met with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon here on
Tuesday, the first of its kind since he took office in January.
"We talked about the economic crisis and how that's affecting not only developed countries but very poor countries around the world," Obama told reporters after the meeting.

Obama said that the worsening international financial
crisis will be a potential threat to food supplies to the poor countries.
He called for international coordination to protect
food supplies for the poorest countries as the economic crisis
deepens.
