Since its foundation in 1965, the
People¡¯s Congress of Tibet Autonomous Region and its Standing Committee
have enacted more than 250 regional laws and regulations and resolutions
and decisions of the nature of the law and regulation, which cover all
aspects of Tibet including policies, economy, culture and education. They
provide crucial legal guarantees for the development of every sector in

Since 1959, five Tibetans and people
of other ethnic minorities have held post of chairman of CPPCC Tibet
Committee. They are Tan Guansan, Zhang Guohua, Ren Rong, Tianbao, Yangji
