GENEVA, March 6 (Xinhua) -- The United States has not yet considered lifting sanctions against Iran, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said here on Friday.

The United States would continue with its sanctions against Iran, Clinton told a press conference after her first meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva.

"We are not yet ready to discuss other options," she said.

However, she said the United States would "welcome advice from Russia" over the Iran nuclear issue, and urged Iran to "end supporting terrorism."

At the same press conference, Lavrov told reporters that Russia's arms sales to Iran "do not violate any international rules."

Russia has considered concerns from its partners like the United States and Israel over the arms sales, he added.
