    HANOI, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam has exported about 674,800 tons of rice so far this year, earning about 268 million U.S. dollars, according to a report on the website of the Vietnam Food Association on Thursday.

    Vietnam has shipped about 373,760 tons of rice so far this month, worth 148.38 million U.S. dollars, said the association.

    Vietnam, the world's second-largest rice exporter after Thailand, targeted to export 4.5 to 5 million tons this year. In 2008, Vietnam exported about 4.67 million tons, worth 2.66 billion U.S. dollars.
