BEIJING, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Minister for Foreign Affairs for Sweden, Carl Bildt, will pay an official visit to China from March 1 to 3 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.

    Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu told a regular press conference here Tuesday that the foreign minister will hold talks with Yang and other Chinese leaders during his visit.

    Ma said since Sweden will hold the EU rotating presidency, he believed Bildt's visit will help promote further development of Sino-Swedish relations and Sino-EU relations.
