ROK FM to visit China

    BEIJING, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Yu Myung Hwan will pay a working visit to China from Feb. 24 to 25, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said here Thursday at a regular press conference.

    According to the ministry, Yu is invited by his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi, and will hold talks with Yang on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern. Other schedules are still in discussion.

    China has established a strategic partnership of cooperation with the ROK, and the two countries witnessed expanding trade and cooperation. The bilateral trade volume in 2008 reached 186.1 billion U.S. dollars, up 16.4 percent year-on-year.
