KABUL, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Taliban insurgents killed two students on charge
of spying for the U.S.-led Coalition troops in Afghanistan's Wardak province,
spokesman for provincial administration Adam Khan said Wednesday.
"The insurgents abducted and shot dead the two students in Syedabad
district Tuesday evening after they spoke with Coalition soldiers in the area,"
Khan told Xinhua.
Both the students 19 and 20 years old simply spoke in English with the
troops but the Taliban fighters around the area interpreted the act as espionage
and gunned them down after abduction when they were on their way home.
Wardak, 50 km west of Afghan capital Kabul, has been the scene of
insurgents' activities since early last year.
