CANBERRA, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Australian police said on Wednesday the death toll in Victoria's bushfires will not rise much further above its current figure of 201.

Victorian Police Deputy Commissioner Keiran Walshe said that police would spend at least another week on searching and while there would probably be further increases in the toll, it should not be significant.

The toll of 201 includes Australian fire fighter David Balfour who was killed by a falling tree on Tuesday, the only fire fighter that died in the bushfire.

This is the most deadliest bushfire in Australian history with more than 200 being killed. At least 1,800 homes have been destroyed and more than 450,000 hectares burnt out in the Victoria bushfire which started on Feb 7. Most bushfires in Victoria have been brought under control so far.
