Forty years after the closure of King Bauduin base, Belgium inuagurated Princess Elisabeth base - a revolutionary scientific research station combining high-end technologies and a total respect for the environment, Feb 15, 2009. The "zero emission" station is the only station to be entirely built during the International Polar Year.
