Chinese vice president to attend business meeting in Mexico

    MEXICO CITY, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping, who will arrive here on Sunday for an official visit to Mexico, is scheduled to attend the 19th Plenary Meeting of the Mexico-China Business Committee, the Mexican Business Council of Exterior Commerce, Investment and Technology (COMCE) said on Friday.

    The 19th plenary meeting, to be held on Tuesday, will discuss business possibilities in both countries, the COMCE said in a communique.

    Xi Jinping will pay official visits to Mexico, Jamaica, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Malta from Feb. 8 to 22.

    Representatives from big companies in Mexico and some 20 Chinese companies will attend the business meeting.

    The Plenary Meeting will be launched by COMCE President Valentin Diez Morodo, ProMexico President Bruno Ferrari, and Rogelio Granguillhome Morfin, director of the Union of Economic Relations and International Cooperation from the Mexican Foreign Ministry.

    Wan Jifei, president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), is expected to deliver a speech at the meeting.

    Businessmen from both countries will also discus successful cases like Chinese computer producer Lenovo in Mexico and Bimbo Group in China.
