TOKYO, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone said
on Friday that he will visit Republic of Korea next Tuesday and Wednesday to
meet his counterpart, Yu Myung Hwan, and the country's President Lee Myung Bak.
During their meetings, they will likely to talk on issues such as the
denuclearization of Korean Peninsula, Nakasone disclosed.
"Frequent meetings and exchanges of views between the two countries'
leaders and foreign ministers will contribute to the fostering of a
forward-looking and mature partnership," Nakasone told a press conference,
adding that he looked forward to fruitful discussion on the denuclearization of
Korean Peninsula and other matters of common interest.
Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso last month visited Seoul as the latest
movement in the two countries' so-called "shuttle diplomacy".
