Special Report: Spring Festival Special 2009
BEIJING, Jan. 30 -- On the first day of the Chinese
Year of the Ox, eight gold takins made their debut at the Guangzhou Xiangjiang
Safari Park.
Gold takin, famous for their gold and amber fur, are
muscular hoofed animals found in the Qinling Mountains in Shaanxi province.
Classed as a national treasure, their numbers have dwindled to only 4,000.
This is the first time for Guangdong to introduce
Takin from Shaanxi. The park attempted to recreate a cold highland region for
the animals to feel at home in.

Guangzhou.
