Special Report: Spring Festival Special 2009

    BEIJING, Jan. 28 -- The ancient city of Pingyao in northern Shanxi Province celebrated the Spring Festival in style Monday with a Shehuo parade in the streets.

    The World Cultural Heritage city chose the variety show style of Shehuo to welcome in the Year of the Ox. With its festive mix of activities, it has a history of 2500 years in north China.Artists put on traditional performances such as walking on stilts and acting out a colorful land boat dance using children.

    The events lined the roads with locals and tourists keen to take photos with the artists.
