    JERUSALEM, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Israel is considering on Wednesday to expel the Venezuelan ambassador in response to Venezuela's expulsion of the Israeli ambassador.

    Israel's foreign ministry is now convening a meeting on this matter, and expulsion is one of the options, said Andy David, deputy spokesman of the ministry, stressing that no final decision has been reached yet.

    On Tuesday, Venezuela ordered Israel's ambassador out of the country, in protest over Israel's military operation in Gaza Strip, where over 600 have been killed and more than 2,700 injured since Dec. 27.

Venezuela expels Israeli ambassador over Gaza conflict

    CARACAS, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Venezuelan government said Tuesday it has decided to expel Israel's ambassador to the country for the conflict raging in the Gaza Strip.

    Venezuela decided to expel Israel's ambassador and some of the staff at the Israeli embassy to strongly condemn Israel's air strikes and ground invasion in Gaza and support the Palestinian people, the foreign ministry said in a statement.   Full story
