JAKARTA, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Finance Ministry will issue Islamic bond known as Sukuk for retail investors with 3-year maturity, Director General for Treasury of the ministry Rahmat Waluyanto said here Wednesday.
The director said that the offering of the Sukuk would start from Feb. 6 to 18 and the issuance would be on Feb. 25.
"The amount of the Sukuk will depend on how much the market can absorb," he told Xinhua.
The U.S. stimulus plan is predicted to spur investors to buy assets in the emerging markets, including Indonesia.
Indonesia planned to issue global conventional bonds and Islamic bonds (or Sukuk) this year but the issuance was delayed due to the global financial turmoil.
