COTABATO, the Philippines, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Philippine security forces on Wednesday captured a suspected bomber linked to a high-profile wanted terrorist in the southern region of Mindanao, a military official said.
The suspect, Dali Pamanay, did not resist arrest when troops cordoned his hideout in the Esperanza township in Sultan Kudarat province, said Colonel Marlou Salazar, an Mindanao-based commander of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
"Pamanay is wanted for two counts of multiple frustrated murders and multiple attempted murders," Salazar said.
Salazar said the suspect works under Islamic militant Basit Usman, a bomb expert linked to the regional Jemaah Islamiyah terror group.
Usman is on Washington's list of terrorists and carries a bounty of 50,000 U.S. dollars.
