ISLAMABAD, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday urged the United States to repatriate all Pakistani prisoners at Guantanamo prison.

Gilani made the remarks while meeting with visiting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher.

Five Pakistanis are currently being held in detention at Guantanamo.

"The Government of Pakistan has urged the U.S. authorities to facilitate their repatriation to Pakistan as soon as possible," said a Foreign Ministry statement on Saturday.

The United States arrested scores of Pakistanis in Afghanistan after 2001 and some were believed to be handed over to the United States by Pakistani authorities on suspicion of links with Taliban and al-Qaeda, according to the News Network International (NNI) news agency.
