ANKARA, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's National Security Council (MGK)
Tuesday expressed deep concern over the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians in
the Israeli offensive in Gaza, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
After the last meeting of this year, the Council said in a statement that
the organization condemned the Israeli attack on Gaza.
"Military operation should be stopped immediately, the two parties should
give a chance to diplomacy," said the statement, adding that humanitarian aid
should be allowed to Palestinian people in Gaza and Palestinians should reach a
compromise as soon as possible.
In a relevant development, four officials of the ruling Justice and
Development Party have quit Turkish-Israeli inter-parliamentary friendship group
over the deadly Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
About 380 people were killed so far while more than 1,700 of others injured
in the Israel's attacks on Gaza which began on
Saturday.
