Lhasa Railway Station to meet Spring Festival travel peak

    BEIJING, Dec. 30 -- From middle January 2009, the Lhasa Railway Station in the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, will meet its first Spring Festival travel peak as more and more passengers go home for the coming Spring Festival.

    The peak will last from Jan. 11 to Feb. 19 as the festival arrives on Jan. 26. During the peak, Lhasa Railway Station will welcome over 80,000 passengers, 3 percent more than the previous year.

    "It is estimated that the peak before the holiday will be from January 11 to 23, and  after the holiday, from February 10 to 19," said Jia Nailin, vice head of Lhasa Railway Station.
