TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said Monday Iran's relief aid for the Gazan people as arrived in Cairo airport, the official IRNA news agency reported.

"Iran's planeload of food and medicine for the besieged people of Gaza arrived at Cairo airport in Egypt Sunday night," Qashqavi was quoted as saying.

He added that a second plane loaded with aid would also be sent to Cairo soon.

Qashqavi said what was happening in Gaza was "clear example of genocide and war crimes."

In a statement released by Iran's Foreign Ministry on Sunday, Qashqavi said his country was ready to receive wounded Palestinians for remedy and treatments in Iran.

"Due to yesterday's (Saturday) crime of Zionist regime which resulted in hundreds of casualties and the critical situation of the wounded concerning the shortage of medicine and medical facilities, Iran is ready to receive wounded Palestinians for remedy and treatments in Iran," the statement said.

Qashqavi called for an urgent action from the "responsible international organizations to push the Zionists to stop the crimes in the Gaza Strip and to help the besieged people there by providing medical treatments for the patients."

Iran's Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the Israeli deadly attack on the "residential areas of the Gaza Strip."

Israel on Saturday morning launched massive air raids which it said were targeted at Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip, killing more than 300 and wounding over 900 people.

Hamas movement, which controls the Gaza Strip, is strongly supported by Iran. The Islamic Republic does not recognize Israel as a state of the international community.
