BEIRUT, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Chief of the Christian Lebanese Forces (LF) party Samir Geagea said Friday night that ending the tragedy in Gaza should not bring another tragedy for Lebanon, LBC TV reported.
"The tragedy in Gaza can not be solved by having another tragedy," Geagea told reporters.
The Lebanese army dismantled eight Katyuch rockets Thursday, which were set by timers to be launched against Israel.
He said "Those who planted the rockets want to send a message saying if pressure increase in Gaza, they will exert pressure from south Lebanon" on Israel.
Geagea pointed the finger at Hezbollah, stressing that it is the only party that can operate in south Lebanon.
Hezbollah has been carrying out parades protesting the blockade imposed on Gaza, following an appeal by Hezbollah Chief Hasan Nasrallah earlier this month.
Hezbollah's second in command Sheikh Naim Qassem called last week for armed resistance to pressure lifting the Gaza siege.
Israel and Egypt sealed borders with Gaza in 2007, however, Israel tightened the grip in November to pressure Hamas militants to stop launching rockets against Israel.
